A good chunk of my evening was spent boiling water to bring Gatorade to room temperature and searching all over Manhattan for an oxygen tank. I hope that when I look back on this day in a few years, I'll also remember the lesson I've learnt from this experience.

This evening I thought that I would make the extra effort to get out of work on time and try to catch one of the performances in the Mostly Mozart free concert series at Lincoln Center but before I left, I checked the website for details on the event and found out that all of their shows have been postponed indefintely. Apparently, there were a few issues that drove the series to a screeching halt.

So if any of you are thinking of attending a Mostly Mozart performance, think again. I'm pretty bummed out that I didn't get my much-craved dose of quality music tonight. Better luck next year.

It's been a while since I saw a film that blew me away just with its incredible script, actors, cinematography and soundtrack. My interest in Monster's Ball grew out of my admiration for Halle Berry's talent as an actress. Being that this was the film that she won an Oscar for (the first Best Actress award that went to an actress of color), I jumped at the chance to watch it the second it hit DVD since I didn't get to watch in the theaters. The powerful overtones of the movie brought out a few interesting racial, social, and psychological issues that I haven't yet seen addressed in other films. The soundtrack was often bare, but enough to express and set the atmosphere. If you haven't seen it yet, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Warning: Monster's Ball is not for the queasy ones out there (you know who you are).

Speaking of Halle Berry, the last movie that she starred in that I've seen prior to Monster's Ball was Swordfish, which was directed by Dominic Sena who also did Gone In Sixty Seconds. Before he started calling the shots in these flashy Hollywood movies, he was best known as the director of Janet's videos during the Rhythm Nation era. The pinnacle of his career, in my opinion, was when he reunited with J to direct one of her best videos to date, "If".

Now, who rules Six Degrees of Janet?

Did you know that Joey Fatone from N'Sync is now starring in Rent? Apparently, he's the new Mark Cohen. I saw the show this afternoon and despite Fatone messing up his first line, which also happens to be the first line of the show, Rent still sends chills down my spine. More than ever, I see the reason why so many people criticize the idea of Larson (dude who came up with Rent) biting off of La Boheme and the less-than-phenomenal songs. But I think what moves me is the energy and the drive in it. After seeing it for the first time, I thought I could step out of the theater and conquer the world. Once again, it recharged me today and that counts for something in my book.

Through His grace and strength, I'm done! Done with my final project, done with my summer class, done with 4.5 hours of sleep a night. I'm amazed. I can't even explain how it happened. I've been riding a crazy wave of adrenalin since Monday, feeling like I can climb Everest one minute and craving a nap the next.

Now that I'm out of school (again), I'm beginning to appreciate my free time. It makes me really want to do all those things that I've been promising myself I'd do all year. Just the boost that I needed to get going on my personal projects again. Let's see how things turn out this time.

The horror begins...

Final project is due in 3 days. I just figured out exactly what I need to do since my other ideas weren't feasible.

I officially declare myself delirious until I step out of my last class on Thursday.

August already?! Can't believe that the summer is more than half over. Guess I should start working on the list of things I wanted to do before school starts again in September...
